Cajun Butter Spaghetti with Prawns

We love a simple, delicious and high protein pasta dish at The Good Bite and this is all three of those things. Juicy cajun prawns, tossed with butter, lemon and spaghetti to make the ultimate, quick weeknight dinner.

Coat the king prawns in the cajun seasoning, smoked paprika and lemon juice.
Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil and cook the spaghetti until al dente. Reserve some pasta water when draining.
Heat 1/2 the butter in a large pan and add the king prawns. Cook for 5 minutes on high heat until pink all over, then remove from the pan.
Reduce the heat to low and add remaining butter to the pan. Once the butter has melted, sauté the garlic for 2 minutes, then add cherry tomatoes, light cream cheese, cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, lemon juice and a large ladle of pasta water. Stir to create a buttery cajun sauce and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Add the cajun prawns, spaghetti and basil to the pan and toss to combine. Turn off the heat and stir in the parmesan.

  • 300g of spaghetti
  • 3 plump cloves of garlic - peeled and finely chopped
  • 75g of unsalted butter
  • A handful of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon light cream cheese
  • 30g parmesan - grated
  • Fresh basil, to taste
