Chicken Shawarma

Our Chicken Shawarma consists of the tastiest and juiciest chicken thighs, served with a homemade garlic sauce and veg all wrapped in a flatbread. Super tasty and super healthy!

Firstly, mix together spices, then add spice blend to yoghurt and olive oil and mix together until fully combined. Add in chicken thighs, mix well, then cover and leave to marinade for at least 30 mins.
Meanwhile, mix together garlic sauce ingredients until fully combined. Prepare all your veg to serve before cooking your chicken.
Bring to chicken thighs to room temperature if they’re not already. Heat cast iron skillet, then add a small amount of avocado oil to pan and add chicken thighs. Cook for 5 mins on each side, aim for a slight char on your chicken, then remove from pan and slice up.
Spread garlic sauce as the base of your flatbread, then add veg and chicken. Top with a little more garlic sauce and hot sauce, wrap it all up and enjoy!

Serves 4

For the Shawarma Chicken:

  • Tsp of cumin.
  • Tsp of chilli powder.
  • Tsp of salt.
  • 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper.
  • Tsp of garlic granules.
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric.
  • 1/2 tsp of coriander.
  • 2 tbsp of yoghurt.
  • Tsp of extra virgin olive oil.
  • 600g of boneless, skinless chicken thighs.

For the garlic sauce:

  • 200ml of yoghurt.
  • 1 clove of garlic - very finely chopped.
  • 2 tbsp of light mayonnaise.
  • Tbsp of lemon juice.

To serve:

  • 4 flatbreads.
  • Shredded lettuce.
  • Thinly sliced peppers.
  • Thinly sliced red onion.
  • Tomato slices.
  • Cucumber slices.
  • Hot sauce.
