Slow Cooker Garlic Beef Noodles

Beef slow cooked for four hours in a sweet and spicy, super garlicky sauce until it literally falls apart, mixed with noodles, sesame seeds, coriander and chillies, resulting in a delicious and hearty bowl of noodles.

Mix together the cooking sauce ingredients in a large bowl or jug.
Season the beef steak generously all over, heat the oil in a large cast iron pan over a high heat, once the oil is smoking hot, sear the beef for 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned all over and beginning to caramelise.
Transfer the beef steak to the slow cooker, add the onion, beef stock, cooking sauce, mix to combine. Slow cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours. Once cooked, the beef should should easily fall apart.
Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil and cook the egg noodles according to packet instructions. Shred the beef using two forks or a pair of tongs, add the noodles, toss to combine, then add the coriander, sesame seeds and chillies, mix again until combined. Make sure the noodles have picked up all of that delicious sauce at the bottom of the slow cooker.
Serve immediately and garnish with some more coriander. This also works perfectly for meal prep!

Cooking Sauce:

  • 6-8 cloves of garlic.
  • Tbsp of ginger paste.
  • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce.
  • 2 tbsp of rice wine vinegar.
  • 1-2 tbsp of gochujang, depending on spice preference.
  • Tbsp of brown sugar.
  • Tbsp of tomato puree

The rest:

  • 750g of beef braising steak.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Tbsp of oil, for frying.
  • 200ml of beef stock.
  • 4 nests/ servings of egg noodles
  • A small bunch of coriander - chopped.
  • Black and/ or white sesame seeds, to garnish.
  • 1 red & 1 green chilli - thinly sliced. (Optional).
